It is very important that your manuscript fits our submission guidelines, so please read the following very carefully.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Under the\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Fisher King Press\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">imprint, we publish the work of\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">certified<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<strong>Jungian analysts<\/strong> relating to the study of Jungian theory, analytical depth psychology, myth, archetypal symbolism, eco-psychology, and dreams. We favor manuscript of 40,000 &#8211; 60,000 words in length. One must be a <strong>certified<\/strong> <strong>Jungian analyst<\/strong> to be published under the Fisher King Press imprint<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">. (Please note that\u00a0we DO NOT publish memoirs, fiction, or poetry.)<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Before sending a query, carefully review the following guidelines:<\/p>\n<p><strong>BOOK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>We do not consider proposals with a view to turning them into books, nor do we consider theses, memoirs, dissertations, essays, individual chapters, or proposals with a view to turning them into books.<\/p>\n<p>We make decisions only on <strong>completed<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>professionally edited<\/strong>\u00a0manuscripts. (If you need an editor, we can refer you to a professional.) Rarely do we make recommendations as to content. The manuscript should be prepared using the\u00a0standard\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fisherkingpress.com\/guidelines.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fisher King Press Guidelines<\/a>. Good quality black and white copies of figures, photos and illustrations, should be provided as separate files \u2013\u00a0<strong>not\u00a0embedded<\/strong>\u00a0within the text.\u00a0<strong>We do not print in color (except for the cover)<\/strong>. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1999.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your manuscript is accepted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the author\u2019s responsibility to\u00a0contract with our designers\u00a0to provide printer ready cover and interior files according to Fisher King Press specifications. Our designers have produced a great number of Fisher King Press publications and they have these specifications on file. The fee for preparing these files vary according to editorial requirements, for example: word count, editing (if required), proofreading, manuscript formatting (if required), indexing (if desired), interior image count, obtaining cover artwork, author modifications\/alterations after the book has been typeset . . . Our designers\u00a0will provide a quote to complete a particular publication once they have received all of the required files and documentation to complete the job of preparing your book for publication in both printed and eBook editions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the author\u2019s responsibility to secure permission to use substantial material from other copyrighted works (except for \u201cfair use\u201d\u2014see The Chicago Manual of Style for guidelines). Permissions include endorsements and images supplied as potential cover art.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We contract to pay a royalty of 10% of the actual selling price on each copy sold, less taxes, shipping, and returns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We also pay a bonus if a title sells 2,500 copies within 5 years of the original publication date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We do not make advance payments on contracts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><strong>To have your manuscript considered \u2014\u00a0READ VERY CAREFULLY\u00a0\u2014 provide the following in the body of an email:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A brief description of your manuscript, a paragraph that will be used on the back cover of your book &#8211; should not exceed 250 words.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Your author bio for the back cover of the book &#8211;\u00a0should not exceed 150 words.<\/li>\n<li>The table of contents.<\/li>\n<li>The total word count of the entire manuscript. (Word Count, NOT Page Count.)<\/li>\n<li>Name and contact information of your professional editor (this would not be a friend who has proofread your manuscript, nor would it be a retired english teacher). If you need a professional editor, we can offer recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Brief author r\u00e9sum\u00e9 with contact information.<\/li>\n<li>Attach your fully edited and formatted manuscript as a word doc file (<strong>without embedded images<\/strong>) and send to queries@fisherkingpress.com<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: DO NOT\u00a0send a query without the above 7\u00a0items. Queries lacking these 7\u00a0basic items will be discarded without consideration.
